Editorial Repair & Review
Many authors reach out after working with an editor and feeling unsure about the results—whether the feedback was unclear, the edits didn’t match their voice, or the process simply didn’t go as expected. This service specifically addresses those situations. If you’ve been left confused, frustrated, or uncertain about the work you received, Editorial Repair & Review gives you a clear, professional second opinion.
I review all materials from your previous edit—including comments, notes, reports, and edited pages—and provide a structured assessment of the quality, accuracy, and usefulness of the work. Where appropriate, I’ll add clarifications, corrections, and guidance to help you get your manuscript back on track. You’ll receive a clear understanding of what was done well, what still needs attention, and how to move forward with confidence.
This is a single‑round service with no revisions. You receive one comprehensive review, plus the option to schedule a 20‑minute video chat to go over the findings and ask questions.
What’s Included
What You Provide
Pricing
Pricing is based on manuscript length and complexity of the previous edit.
File Format Requirements
I work in Microsoft Word for all editing and review services.
If your manuscript is in Google Docs, you may send the link or download it as a Word file—either is fine, and all feedback will be returned in a Word document. If your manuscript is in PDF format, please convert it to Word before sending it when possible. PDFs can be used for reference, but I cannot add comments or notes directly to a PDF, so all feedback will be provided in a Word document.
If you are working on a Mac, please ensure your file is saved in standard .docx format rather than Pages or compatibility mode, as some Mac exports can limit editing access on Windows.
Turnaround Times
Turnaround times vary by manuscript length and the complexity of the previous edit. All timelines are estimated and based on business days (Monday–Thursday). I do not work Friday–Sunday or holidays.
What is Editorial Repair & Review?
Editorial Repair & Review is a one‑round assessment of the work completed by a previous editor. I review all edits, comments, notes, and reports, identify issues or inconsistencies, clarify confusing feedback, and provide corrections or guidance where appropriate.
Is this a full edit or a rewrite?
No. This service evaluates and repairs the work already completed. It does not replace a full developmental or line edit, and I do not rewrite or re-edit the entire manuscript.
What materials do I need to send?
Please send the edited manuscript and any comments, notes, or reports from your previous editor.
What file formats do you accept?
I work in Microsoft Word. Google Docs links or Word downloads are fine. PDFs should be converted to Word when possible. Mac files must be saved as .docx.
How long does it take?
Turnaround depends on manuscript length and complexity. All timelines are estimated and based on business days (Monday–Thursday). I do not work Friday–Sunday or holidays.
Do you offer a video chat?
Yes. You may schedule an optional 20‑minute video chat to go over the results and ask questions.
What if my previous editor used AI?
I can identify signs of AI‑generated edits, clarify confusing or incorrect feedback, and help you understand what needs to be repaired or redone.
Can you tell me whether my editor’s work was correct?
Yes. I evaluate the accuracy, clarity, consistency, and usefulness of the previous edits and explain what was done well and what needs correction.
Will you tell me if I need more editing afterward?
Yes. If your manuscript needs additional developmental or line editing, I’ll recommend the appropriate next steps.
Do you use AI for this service?
No. All feedback is fully human‑crafted.
